we've got news for you!Happy New Year!
Still writing lyrics for the new songs we will record in February. That means there will be a new album and if all goes as planned it'll hit the street in June. Again the nice and hard-working folks at People like you records are gonna put it out. Also in June we will tour a bit of the USA, mainly in the west as it seems. European-Tours will follow in autumn and we're also sorting out the details for our 3rd tour in Japan right now.
SOME NEWS!Again we did some tours and shows. It has been mostly great and we even played places that were sold-out for the first time, which shows us (once more) that we're not going down and you don't need all that promotion TV and Radio-stuff to get along. Just play and try to be as good as possible. We also still do have shows which kinda suck or where only a handful of people show up, but you know what: That's also fine whith us and although it might sound weird, that also keeps us going. You know if every show would be the same, we would be bored pretty soon I guess.
Our record label "People like you" just put out a Mini-CD/10inch with some (7) songs that were unreleased and are from the "Touch and Go" sessions. So it's not really new stuff and not our best work either. That's why it wasn't released yet, you know. But it's good enough to be released and a nice "gift" for our "fans". For us it was mainly the 10inch thing: Something we haven't done yet. I hope we can hit the studio again this year to record some new killer stuff, 'cause I already wrote more than 10 songs that are great in my opinion. We'll see.
I've been asked a few times about why we don't play big Festivals during summer and here we go: I'm not a fan of playing big stages and outdoor shows. Don't even think we're too good on these and I also think we don't belong there. After all we're just a Punk-band that works better in dirty clubs. Also we were not asked to play festivals anyway, hahaha. BTW we also won't do any Football related shows in June (European Champion ship is in Switzerland/Austria you know) altough we've been asked and offered some money. I wanna watch the games, drink beer and do some barbecue or something.
Things we hope to do after summer: Play new songs and relearn some older stuff that we haven't played in ages. In other words, we change the set a bit. Record new songs. Touring (maybe Canada, hopefully Japan and Australia, don't know about the US because we haven't found a promoter yet).
That's all for now, hope to see some of you at shows and thanks for the support anyway.
BTW, the Peacocks will turn 18 in Sept. Yes we played our first show in September 1990!
